Petrikor Danse will be in Paris for four weeks this summer, working on Helichryse at IRCAM.

Dance artist Bettina Szabo has her shoulders on the floor with her legs in the air, seemingly resting her back on something unseen. Her upperbody is surrounded by a sculptural costume made out of layers of small round pieces of paper, like petals. She is in a dance studio with grey floors and white walls.

During the residency, Bettina and Aliénor Golvet, a technical specialist from IRCAM at the Centre Pompidou, will concentrate on spatialization of the soundscape. This will be a continuation of the work developed in their last residency at Alma d'Arame in Portugal this spring.

As Helichryse is a piece created from the experiences of menopause, perimenopause, and postmenopause of diverse people from around the world, research workshops will also continue to run. The next series will be in Montreal in October 2025. If you would like to participate, don't hesitate to reach out to Bettina right away to reserve your spot.

Stay tuned for the results of this next research period!
