Née en Uruguay, Bettina Szabo est danseuse et chorégraphe installée à Montréal depuis 2007. Elle a étudié avec Hebe Rosa (Uruguay) et Rami Be’er (Israël). Elle est diplômée de l'EDCM en 2013 en danse et obtient son baccalauréat en chorégraphie à l'Université Concordia en 2017 (Montréal, Canada). Elle suit de nombreux ateliers avec des artistes de renommée tels que Marie Chouinard, Dave St Pierre, Hildegard De Vyust, Guy Cools, Benoit la Chambre et Clara Furey.
Elle danse pour le Ballet de Camara de Montevideo (2004-2007), le KCDC (2010), le collectif Interlope (2013-2014) et pour Jason Cutler en 2019. En 2006, elle forme le collectif Jeli-Mien, avec le qu’elle reçoit le prix du chorégraphe émergent décerné par le ministère de la culture et des sports de l'Uruguay.
En 2014, elle crée Noir = + pour danseur et vibraphone présenté au CNSMD de Lyon. Elle fonde Petrikor Danse en 2016. Depuis elle présente Séquelles (2017) et Habitat (2020). Son travail a été présenté à Genève, Paris, Lyon, Vienne, Montréal et Toronto.
Elle est un membre actif de la communauté de la danse à Montréal et membre élue du conseil d'administration de l'Association québécoise de la danse. Elle fonde le Conseil de l'action continue pour l'inclusion (CACI) en 2020 au sein du même organisme.

Born in Uruguay, Bettina Szabo is a dancer and choreographer living in Montreal since 2007. She studied with Hebe Rosa in Montevideo (Uruguay), and Rami Be’er at Ga’aton (Israel). She graduates the EDCM in 2013 in Dance and obtains her BFA Choreography at Concordia University in 2017 (Montreal, Canada). She follows many workshops with renowned artist such as Marie Chouinard, Dave St Pierre, Hildegard De Vyust and Guy Cools.
As dancer, she is interested on collaborative processes based on somatic explorations. She dances for the Ballet de Camara de Montevideo (2004-2007), the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC) (2010), the collectiveInterlope (2013-2014) and for Jason Cutler in 2019. In 2006, she forms the collective Jeli-Mien, with whom she’s awarded –Best show, Best choreography and Best performance – prices on the emerging artist category, given by the Ministry of culture and sports of Uruguay.
2014 marks the beginning of her tight collaboration with music with Noir=+ for dancer and vibraphone presented at the Conservatoire national supérieur musique et danse de Lyon. Since she presents Séquelles (2017), and three different stages of her creation Habitat (2016,2017,2020). Her work has been presented in Geneva, Lyon, Vienna, Montreal and Toronto. Currently she is working on the full-length version of Habitat work and on her project Cuña.
Member of Diversité Artistique Montréal (DAM), Bettina is an active militant for the cultural diversity inclusion in Montreal’s arts milieu. She is currently an elected member of the board of directors of the Reagroupement Quebecois de la Danse.
